The NYT shows off some leg!
The other day, my brother-in-law sent me this great article from the New York Times. Bill Cunningham, a photographer for the NYT, walks the streets of the Big Apple and looks at the latest and greatest fashion trends of today. Bill says the look that is dominating the streets of NYC is the "long stretch of leg, ankle boots and a new posture." Yowza!
Check out his cool video of fantastic looks here: (http://nyti.ms/fNzKo8)

All About Sole Food!
Hey Sole Foodies,
Lindsay here, and I just wanted to take a little time to explain all about Sole Food and how we operate. We’re a small business with a boutique atmosphere (and a lot of heart!). We love shoes, and we do our best to choose fun, comfortable, colorful styles that you just won’t find anywhere else. Each season’s collection is carefully selected by our staff to be unique.
Because of this, we have small quantities of the styles we carry-usually one or two in each size. This just means that the shoes you get from Sole Food are more special! You’re unlikely to find someone walking down the street with the same shoes. It also means that if you find a great pair here, don’t wait! If you come back a week or two later, your perfect pair is likely to be gone. We have a thirty day refund policy on unworn (full price) merchandise, so you can take a pair home, wear them around the house, and try them on with different outfits to make sure they’re right for you. If not, bring them back for a full refund. Here at Sole Food, we want to make sure you LOVE your shoes!
One exciting addition to Sole Food is our brand new website! Many of our awesome styles can be ordered directly from http://www.shopsolefood.com/. If you want to be the first to check out our newest shoes, go to the new arrivals section at http://www.shopsolefood.com/New-Spring-2011-Arrivals/. That’s where we put brand new styles that aren’t even in the store yet! These shoes will be exclusively online for a while, so take a peek!
I love Sole Food because we carry lines that you can’t find at most department stores. Some of my favorites are Gidigio, Gee WaWa, John Fluevog, and Gabor. Here are a couple great styles we have in store right now!
Gidigo-Avion Heel: $269.90 (in store and online)
Gee WaWa-Larue Heel: $169.90 (in store only)
Thanks for taking the time to learn a little bit more about Sole Food-we hope to see you soon!
-Lindsay

Behind the Scenes!
We are well on our way! Construction is going very smoothly, and if you have visited the store this week, you've seen the impacts. Our temporarily smaller store is a bit cozy, and the dust is slowly collecting in the small corners and on some shoes, like this poor boot (above). I will fight the battle of the dust until I win!
Check out the area behind our temporary wall!
I came into the store this morning and noticed that we have broken through the south wall!

Sole Food Facebook Contest!
Hey Sole Foodies, want to win a $50 Sole Food gift card? We thought so! Submit a funny photo (or two) of you or your kids wearing Sole Food shoes on our Facebook wall! Contest ends at midnight on January 17th and we'll announce the winner on the 18th.
A New Year, A New Sole Food
Happy January, Sole Foodies!
The next time you visit our store, you will see a big difference...
"Oh my, Sole Food is a lot smaller than I remember!"
We are remodeling! January is going to be a busy (and dusty) month for us, but the construction will result in a major transformation later. It all started last night with the first step; we now have a temporary east wall located a few feet in from the original, making the store a little narrower, for now.
Store hours will remain normal, so visit us and check out our blue bucket sale! And check back in our blog soon; we'll be documenting the construction as it happens. Bye for now!

Blue Bucket Sale is Here!
The blue buckets are back! Every January we bring out the infamous blue buckets and fill them up with children shoes and give you a sweet deal...50% off! And no worries...we have sale shoes for men & women too.
To make shopping easier, we have organized the blue buckets by shoe size and translated European sizes to U.S. sizes. Our sale shoes on the walls have availability marked on the tag on the bottoms of shoes too!
You better hurry...the selection is great now, but these shoes go fast.
